Ionian Sea’s Heart

Today we will head south to the islet of Meganisi, one of the most famous destinations for sailboats and big yachts.The northern part of Meganisi forms a high number of bays offering safe berth, just on anchor, or in a small port. You will spend the whole day exploring the islet enjoying the sea and the sun. The islet offers you a lot of traditional taverns where you could try the Ionian gastronomy.

After a nice breakfast and our last dives in Meganisi, we will sail south to the northern part of Kefalonia and maybe the most beautiful spot of the Ionian Sea. Fiskardo is a picturesque fishing village that retains much of its original Venetian architecture, making it a really special place on the island to visit. We suggest you the beaches of Foki or Kimilia as a stop for swimming. Both beaches dispose a great landascape where a dense forest with bright, green trees, all over the hills of the island and spreading down to the sea level.

On the 4th day of your journey you will have more time to enjoy the island of Kefalonia on a relaxing day. You will sail between the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaki to reach the majestic beach of Antisamos in a dark green landscape and the port of Sami where you will spend the night. There is also an option for your to stop for swimming in one of the many beaches of Ithaki on the west side of the island (Afales, Polis, Gidaki).

Today we say goodbye to Kefalonia island and we sail to the famous island of Ithaki. Worldwide famous as the home of Odysseus, Ithaki symbolizes the return to the haven, the discovery and the fulfillment. Ithaki or Ithaca has one of the biggest natural ports in Europe and the whole island is surrounded by small, amazing bays. That’s the reason why Ithaki is one of the favorite islands of all sailors from the ancient years.With a multitude of choices covering all beach tastes, from sand to pebbles, from rocky to green-clad backgrounds, from peaceful to busy ones. Talaros will be our option for swimming and we will spend the night at the port of Vathy.

One of the biggest highlights on this route is waiting for us at the island of Atokos which is simply an earthly paradise unspoiled by human intervention.Encircled by the horizon, the island sits alone and, like the hump of a whale or the shell of a turtle, it gently emerges from the enormous ocean around it. The entire island is awash with color and beauty, and feels as if it has been set apart from the rest of the world. The port of Kalamos will be our choice for tonight where we will have our last ouzo night before the end of our trip.

A grand finale is always needed in every kind of trip. For that reason we kept our favorite location for the end. Asprogyali of Kalamos is an outstanding location where a fully green mountain with a pine forest meets the light blue color of the sea and three small private beaches with white sand. This is a spot accessible only by boat and believe us that you will get crazy with its beauty. With that image you will close your journey full of memories that will last forever.
